Extraordinary is how I would describe Rebekah from your ICU unit. My mother was admitted due to extreme pain in her stomach and lower back. After what would have been a routine gallbladder removal, she had complications and was taken to ICU. Here is where my family had the good fortune of meeting Rebekah. A few gestures which made her stand out amongst the many other wonderful nurses was her sincere care for Mom. As a Spanish speaking patient, Rebekah was quick to use her Spanish to ensure Mom felt safe and understood. Rebekah has a gentle spirit and remains calm while dealing with an incredible amount of responsibility and ongoing requests by patients and other departments.
Day shift is truly intense in ICU! Beyond her genuine caring, bilingual skills and constant checkpoints, Rebekah explained how on her weekend off she was leading a team and organizing a health fair at Shasta Lake City! Lastly, Rebekah came by to say hello to my mom on her day off. That is beyond extraordinary! That is extra Humankindness!
