My husband and I felt so blessed to have been surrounded by a team of highly qualified, skilled, kind, compassionate, and caring people.
On behalf of our family, I would like to thank the entire staff at the CLC for the amazing care my husband received during his stay. He spent the last 18 months either in another Reno hospital and/or nursing facility. It was only within the last month that we experienced the uniqueness of being here in a VA facility. Based on the amount of time I've spent in healthcare facilities, I honestly believe, I am qualified to tell you that you are the best team of healthcare professionals I have ever experienced. I wish I could list everyone by name, but sadly I can't. I just know that this entire staff has been truly amazing.
My husband and I felt so blessed to have been surrounded by a team of highly qualified, skilled, kind, compassionate, and caring people. Some of the things I've observed are things we often take for granted, for example, I noticed that the staff are kind to each other and kind to their Veteran residents. They are respectful, always greeting others with a smile and a warm hello. I have also witnessed unbelievable patience with the slowness and often confusion of the aged, and saintly staff who supported my often, demanding behavior as I tried everything I could in order to keep him alive with a quality of life he deserved. And with all things, I admire the unwavering attitude of kindness and gratitude in serving others.
The last week was the toughest of all as it was clear that he would never regain the quality of life he wanted. The physicians and licensed staff helped me make the decision for hospice care. It was difficult, however; it was the correct choice. The outpouring of love and support was amazing. We were blessed to have been transferred to a private room. It allowed us the privacy to talk without disturbing others.
(This was a family's response to the Bereaved family survey. They mentioned overall good care, but Renee was listed specifically)
