Richard’s official title at Children’s may be Staff Nurse, but to others he’s considered much more—teacher, friend and comedian just to name a few. Always willing to help others, he fills in for the CICU when needed and teaches other nurses based on his experiences, sharing his vast knowledge of nursing. His light-hearted manner puts the patients at ease and keeps them entertained. He’s even been known to play up his resemblance to Fred Flintstone to make the kids (and staff) laugh.
“Richard has one of the biggest hearts at Children’s when it comes to our little people. He truly goes above and beyond,” a coworker said.
