Richard exemplified a DAISY nurse while caring for my husband. He stayed calm and focused and communicated well with both his team and our family when my husband, in a hepatic confused state, acted out. Richard, in a caring and professional manner, reached out to the family for assistance, made sure that all the team members were keeping an "eye" on the safety issues as well as my husband's dignity. When I arrived, I could see the admiration in the co-worker's eyes and I knew that Richard had done everything possible to properly care for my husband.
