Ricki was the nurse caring for an elderly patient on the 5th floor. I noticed Ricki making a birthday card and collecting signatures for a patient's birthday. She went down to the cafeteria, bought the patient a dessert and brought all of the floor staff in the patient's room to sing happy birthday to her. This patient didn't have family or visitors during her stay and she smiled from ear to ear when she received her dessert and card. Ricki went above and beyond to make this patient's stay memorable and to have a happy birthday even though she was in the hospital.
