Rosie is a nurse who exemplifies empathetic care this is evident in all of her patient interactions.

She frequently identifies patients who do not have visitors and spends extra time with them. There was a patient who was in the hospital for an extended period of time who, by the time she came to the unit had hair that was matted. She showed Rosie a picture of herself when she was well and once Rosie saw how important her appearance had been to her she decided to take it into her own hands.

She detangled all of her hair with patience and care ensuring that she would not have to cut it. She also bought nail polish to provide her with a manicure and lotion from Bath and Body Works. These actions lifted the patient's mood in a way that was greater than any medicinal intervention.

Rosie has been a nurse for over 30 years and the care she provides with compassion has never faltered.
