Rozi consistently provides above-and-beyond care to her patients. She actively participates in discharge planning and considers how to prepare each family so that they are comfortable and safe going home. On several occasions, she has initiated contact with providers and case management to confirm what education the families need, ensure they have all home supplies, or generally advocate for families. Recently, she stepped away from a busy shift to sit in a care conference with a family receiving a challenging prognosis. She sat quietly next to the mother, patting her on the back, handing her the tissue box, and affirming her feelings. She met heartbreak with warmth and peace. I thought, if I were in this situation, this is exactly what I would want from a nurse. I am so thankful to have her on 12 and in my kiddos' corners!
