This Extraordinary Nurse has had several instances where she demonstrated stewardship to help advocate for patient care. Most recently, her actions helped prevent potential patient mortality by speaking up and asking clarifying questions. Although she works on a neuro specialty unit, she was able to identify a patient's abnormal telemetry findings as a STEMI, completed the necessary interventions, and transferred the patient to cath lab to receive the required care needed. Her ability to see the "big picture" for her patients allowed her to promote patient safety and clinical indications necessary. I am so grateful for her awareness to go beyond the norm of her typical "neuro" patient population to identify a cardiac complication and to listen to her "nursing intuition" that something was wrong.
