I was visiting with the family of a lost loved one, and after going into the room, I didn’t expect to see her still, with the mouthpiece in or the airflow tube. I just started to immediately shake and I had to immediately leave the room! I was beginning to hyperventilate, and my heart was racing. I was sweating and deep breathing, and I felt as though I was going to faint. My daughter caught me in the middle of the hall and took me into the waiting room by pod-B. She called on a young nurse that was passing by and she told him what was going on.

My friend had just passed, and he asked how I was doing. Without hesitation, he got a fan and told me to slow down and take deep breaths while he went to get me some water. I’m so thankful for nurses who just don’t come to work for a “paycheck,” but they sincerely care about people who are in need. I’m so thankful that Sam coasted me through what could have been a heart problem because I do have a heart problem.
