October 2022 Honoree
Samantha Conrad, MSN, RN
My husband was recently admitted to Banner Baywood for bilateral pulmonary embolism and DVT after a routine outpatient knee surgery. As a nurse myself, it was alarming to see him in such distress. Shortly after he was admitted to the inpatient unit, I could tell that he was not well and I was very concerned for his well-being. I found his nurse, Sam, and expressed my concerns about his condition. She told me that I was right to be concerned and she immediately began calling providers and getting things ordered. Sam made me feel less anxious knowing that I had someone on my side, who validated my concern and showed the same concern herself. I want to thank Sam for helping to ease my anxiety while also providing excellent care for my husband and for not making me feel like I was an additional burden with my questions and concerns. She is a great nurse and deserves to be recognized.
Thank you, Samantha, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
