I came to work to receive report on my patients. Upon receiving report on a patient, the patient coded. We were able to revive the patient, however, she was still very unstable. She required many lines to be placed, blood, and lots of care that I was not able to leave her room. Samantha Hodge asked if there was anything that she could do to help me. I informed her that if she could assess my other patient and make sure that he was all right, that would be a lot of help. She ended up assuming care of the patient until about 4 o'clock. She gave me my meds and drew my lab. She even called the provider with a critical H/H, got a type & screen, and started my blood for me. She did all of this even though she was assigned her own two patients with an orientee on the opposite side of 7ICU. I really appreciate her awesome teamwork because I don't know what I would have done without her help. In addition to all of this, she helped me find where I was supposed to chart values from the Flotrac in EPIC for my post-code patient.
