Samuel is a warm, welcoming ray of light in a somewhat dark and scary experience. It is not exactly an enjoyable place to be and this nurse seems to be able to ease the anxiety and worries of those they care for.
I have worked with this nurse many times. We have been very busy, beyond busy. But this nurse helps and keeps smiling; great attitude and goes over and beyond with patients. The nurse also helps us with no questions asked. I would like to make sure this person is recognized for their help and positive outlook.

Always comes in with an amazing attitude. This person is great with patients and always helps when needed. One we were having a bad time with a patient and this person dropped what he/she was doing to help us. I personally feel very happy and reassured it’s going to be a good day when I see we are working together.

What makes a good nurse? Someone with these qualities: compassion, caring, understanding, patience, calmness, attentiveness, helpfulness, sensitivity, good listening, and comfort.
My husband was a patient at Fairlawn after knee surgery in December and then again in January after requiring additional surgery. His first stay was just 5 days. The second was twice as long. He was lucky to have the same nurse on both visits. When he came back in the second time, the nurse who was not even assigned to him on admission came in to speak with us to see why he was back. The nurse was interested and concerned about his return. During both stays, the nurse was compassionate and caring about my husband’s situation and always attentive to his care needs. You see, my husband has Parkinson’s which complicates matters. But, this nurse with his calm disposition, was always pleasant and patient with him. The nurse would listen attentively and spend time in conversation with him, sometimes joking – which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. The nurse demonstrates all these qualities with my daughter and me as well. The nurse understood the situation of what we were all going through and all the stress it brought to our lives. This nurse was sensitive to our needs. So, my family and I would say this nurse is the epitome of what a good nurse is all about. The nurse is a warm, welcoming ray of light in a somewhat dark and scary experience. It is not exactly an enjoyable place to be and this nurse seems to be able to ease the anxiety and worries of those they care for. This nurse is a definite asset to the nursing profession and any organization should be proud to have this nurse on their team. This nurse has an infectious laugh and I am sure a smile to match underneath that mask.

The nurse went above and beyond when dealing with their patients. The nurse always communicated and followed through. The nurse took the time to show me how to do self-injections and provided me with all the information I needed to do this confidently.
