Sandra Veazey, RN

Sandra is a head nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton in Covington, Tennessee, on Med-Surg. She was nominated by a group of patients and staff on the night shift, making this nomination unique. Being an RN since 2003, Sandra regularly goes above and beyond to care for patients, but her coworkers cited special circumstances that Sandra connected to the patient's needs and was able to improve the patient's outcome, the family's level of trust in the hospital, and the staff's needs as well. It is special to have someone who daily shows compassion to everyone around her. This is Sandra's second DAISY Award, and she has had multiple nominations at the facility.
