The daughter of one of her patients nominated her saying, "Sandy is the most compassionate person. She has made my dad, my mom, and me so comfortable and informed us of things she was doing and what the doctor ordered. When I requested more help she got me the case manager and phone numbers. She has gone above and beyond what I expected and my expectations are high! She was the light when others could not see what was happening with my Dad."



This nomination moved the nurses on the Work Environment Council (WEC) because the purpose of the DAISY Award is to "say thank you to nurses for their compassionate care." Nurses on WEC often say that reading the nomination stories is one of the best parts of participating in WEC.
