February 2010 Honoree
sandy lust, RN
[Sandy is in pink holding the award]
We nominate Sandy Lust for the DAISY Award. Sandy recognized a need for the patients who would be hospitalized [on the Mental Health Unit] on Christmas Day. She made fleece blankets for each patient, which involved a considerable amount of her time. She also supplied all the materials needed for this project.
She recognized that because some of the patients are a long distance from home, it would be difficult for their families to visit. This was greatly appreciated by all of the patients.
