She is loved by her patients and has often been recognized because of her bedside manners and knowledge of what she does. Like me, the patients believe that Sarah is a caring and compassionate soul.
Most of us know that Sarah has dedicated herself to being a healing partner here at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in South Sacramento for more than twenty years now. She has proven many times over that this is her true life calling.

Sarah is everyone’s source of information, whether it be concerning hospital policies, patient conditions, or any unit concerns. She has extensive expertise in Orthopedic, Trauma, Medical/Surgical, and Oncology Nursing. She shares her knowledge and information about policy updates and thinks of ways to improve the unit culture. She is not afraid to share her experiences and encounters with patient conditions to help improve and build up her colleague’s confidence.

Sarah is a very passionate nurse when it comes to patient care. She makes sure that the patient is given the proper care and in a safe manner. She has a quick sense of identifying a problem and readily finds the answer to always keep the patient safe. She is loved by her patients and has often been recognized because of her bedside manners and knowledge of what she does. Like me, the patients believe that Sarah is a caring and compassionate soul.

Sarah is well-rounded, fun-loving, and enthusiastic! She smiles even under pressure. She contributes to the wellness of the staff engaging them in socialization and gatherings outside of work to ensure good camaraderie and maintenance of good mental well-being. Arranging the staff Christmas party is her forte.

Sarah motivates and empowers her colleagues in advancing their level in nursing which boosts their own careers, and the greater success of the hospital. She teaches the annual skills days and mentors the nursing staff for their advancements in the field of nursing.

Sarah carries herself in a manner that is approachable and available, especially in emergent situations. She has established a good rapport with other departments, helping the whole care team flow smoothly and well. Sarah has become a beacon of success, a resource for all, and a model to follow.

Sarah is the epitome of a nurse’s nurse and the revered matriarch of our 3 North team. She is an expert in her field and a mentor to her peers. Sarah is a walking South Sac policy and procedure manual and is not afraid to speak up in the best interest of her patients or fellow nurses. She leads by example and has been known to say that she does not need to be recognized – “doing the right thing for my patients is recognition enough.” Sarah is an excellent team player, very approachable, and a great resource for her clinician partners. She steps in when asked to do relief charge and runs the entire department with ease. It has been an honor to work alongside Sarah over the past years. Sarah is most deserving of this lifetime recognition.
