Sarah sat and talked to my dad and made sure this is what he wanted, let him know what to expect, and really put us all to ease with the process.
When we signed my dad up for hospice, Sarah was very nice, caring and walked me and my brothers through the whole thing. She sat and talked to my dad and made sure this is what he wanted, let him know what to expect, and really put us all to ease with the process. Before she left she let us know that she was going to be off Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and that she would be back on Monday to see us. She let us know that if we needed anything that someone else would answer our calls and come out if needed.
Well, my dad got really bad Saturday and I called and talked to someone off and on all day. When I called and told them that Dad had passed she said she would be out. Instead, Sarah took time from her family time off to come to help us in our most desperate time of grief. I was so thankful that it was someone we had an attachment to and was very nice and sweet to my dad when she came out. Most of the other company nurses talk to me or over him and not to him and I would have to tell them to talk to him since they were his decisions. Sarah didn't do that and that was very thoughtful and respectful to him and made him feel like a person and not an object. I think she needs to be honored for that.
