Shallon Kinard, RN, RNC-OB

On a busy day at the end of June, a nurse accepted a male outpatient blood transfusion to the women’s floor to help with hospital throughput. Her goal was to help more patients from the Emergency room. Her ability to be flexible and welcoming to my patient was incredible. She immediately connected with this patient on admission by learning about his hobbies. She found a common topic important to my patient. They connected by talking about their hobbies and passion: cows. Nurse Shallon was amazing, smart, and professional in every aspect of care. She is a DAISY Nurse for using her nursing skills to go above and beyond.
