Initially, the patient would only take medication when Ms. Webber asked him to do so. As his mental condition improved, he began to take medication on his own, bathe, and participate in activities on the unit.
Ms. Webber goes above and beyond and always has the best intentions for the patients and for the staff.
***
She is such a team player, someone you can call on during a crisis. She is such a delight to work with.
***
One word to describe her is simply the best.
***
Ms. Webber puts in a lot of extra hours to provide a good work environment not only for her coworkers but for her patients as well.
***
Ms. Webber is the head nurse of an adult inpatient psychiatric unit. The patients on the unit are extremely ill. I have seen her handle many crises with skill and subtlety. One patient stands out. He was grossly disorganized in thought and behavior. The patient had a long history of verbal abuse and physical aggression. Most staff, for safety reasons, kept their distance. However, Ms. Webber, at great personal risk, interacted with the patient every day. The patient made repeated threats and, at one point, attempted to attack Ms. Webber, but she continued to engage the patient. Eventually, a therapeutic alliance was formed. Initially, the patient would only take medication when Ms. Webber asked him to do so. As his mental condition improved, he began to take medication on his own, bathe, and participate in activities on the unit. The verbal abuse and physical intimidation ceased. Due to Ms. Webber’s actions, the patient and staff were able to safely see the patient to discharge. Ms. Webber works with an extraordinarily difficult patient population with composure and calm. She is a role model to all the staff on the unit, going above and beyond what is expected.
***
Ms. Webber is the head nurse of one of the most acute units of Kings County. She treats all the patients and staff with respect. She encompasses the total care of her staff and her patients. She is tough! But she is also kind and fair.
