My brother was recently receiving outpatient Hospice services and Shanon was his nurse. Shanon had such an amazing way with everyone she came into contact with, but especially with my brother, B. She connected with him immediately and it was as if they had known each other for a lifetime. She took incredible care of him and helped him feel safe prior to his passing.
In addition to the great care B received, Shanon provided incredible support to his wife and their two children, to our parents and the rest of our family during a very difficult time. She had never met several members of our family but after being with us only a short time she was able to share with the funeral home the name of each of us and our connection to B which was so very helpful.
Shanon was not scheduled to work on Sunday, the day B passed, but she came in to check on him and care for him three times that day! As much as we mourn losing B, Shanon made it less painful to let go because he was so well cared for during this difficult time. Shanon is a gift to Cheyenne Regional. She went over and beyond what was required of her. She truly provided the care and compassion we hope that each patient would receive at Cheyenne Regional.
