Sharon is the sweetest and most caring nurse I've ever had. She puts a smile on everyone's face and she's filled with joy. She's very helpful and professional at her job. I am beyond thankful for everything she does for me.

Sharon is an experienced nurse. Her caring and her ability to make me feel safe will never be forgotten. She clearly knows what her patient needs and will always do whatever is necessary: whether just giving a needed pep talk, helping with basic care, or seeing that a broken toilet paper roll dispenser is fixed. I always felt lucky when Sharon was my nurse and I knew that she would see everything I needed would be taken care of. Her compassion and caring will never be forgotten.

Sharon was always pleasant and upbeat when treating me which makes all the difference especially when I was down in the dumps. Sharon made a huge difference for me after I came to Kessler with a colostomy. I was very upset about having the colostomy and was very up in the air about keeping the colostomy or having it reversed once my pressure wound healed. I was also very concerned about my independence in managing the bag changes and wafer changes.
On several occasions, Sharon and I talked about my management of the colostomy and she recommended an accordion wafer that addressed management of the bag changes while taking into account my non-functioning fingers. Sharon also showed me step by step how the wafer and bag changes were managed. When I was ready, Sharon began to give me hands-on training on wafer and bag changes and by the time I was discharged from Kessler I was independent in both.
This was a huge weight off my shoulders and has led me to decide on keeping the colostomy which has made my life much easier by eliminating my need to do a bowel program every morning and giving me the confidence to move about in the community knowing I can manage my colostomy independently.
