Recently, a patient who had a procedure done was noted to need additional support before the patient can be transferred out to an inpatient unit. A bed was made available to receive this patient in Post-Acute Care Unit (PACU) while waiting for a bed on an inpatient unit and Sharon offered to take on another patient assignment with no complaint. Within minutes she had Vasopressors started and cared for the patient for several hours before the patient was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Sharon precepts nearly every new PACU nurse takes care of many critical patients throughout the day and helps out in the ICU as needed. Sharon’s faith in God leads her to treat each person with exceptional respect and value.
