Sharon was one of 3 nurses singled out by a family in the NICU to be recognized with a DAISY award for her compassion, empathy, and dedication to their daughter. The family felt their daughter was cared for as if she were Sharon's own child. She took time to console a frantic infant when she was hungry and unable to feed. Sharon would stay after her shift to make sure the baby was comfortable and fell asleep before she would leave. Other staff members told the family of Sharon's dedication to their baby. They were truly grateful for the care rendered to their very fragile baby.
