When Shelby was in our room, people were always coming to her to get her help with someone they were caring for.
Shelby has a passion for what she does. No matter what was going on she was always there for us. I always knew that I could turn to Shelby throughout my husband's 30+ day stay. We were moved to ICU on our 4th night, and she would still comfort me when I would go see her ease my mind.
One day, I was in the cafeteria by myself and she stopped to chat with me to make sure everything was good. Shelby and I had a great connection from day one which put me at ease. I work with a lot of kinds of people and never met someone like her. When Shelby was in our room, people were always coming to her to get her help with someone they were caring for.
On Saturday, I went from ICU to 3B to see if Shelby was working because my husband coded. She took me in her arms and held me, took me downstairs, paid for my breakfast, and just listened to everything I had to say. We are leaving Monday to go to an LTAC hospital and I truly pray that there is a Shelby at our new home as we will be in recovery for a while.
