Shelby Koraido, BSN, RN

We had a young patient with a severe cancer diagnosis and Shelby was her nurse. Shelby was given a blanket due to her own recent cancer diagnosis. Shelby gave this blanket to this patient because "she needs it more than I do" Shelby said. This patient is very sick and when being transferred for an IR treatment this patient kept that blanket with her. I can tell the patient appreciated and valued this gesture by Shelby a great deal.

Shelby was very good to me and showed kindness, empathy, and compassion. She made me feel like I was not alone in battling my illness. She ensured I was comfortable and that I did not have to wait long at all when I had to use the nurse button. Shelby is an excellent nurse and my hopes are that she sees this. Thank you for taking such good care of me.
