This was our inaugural DAISY Nurse Leader award. We planned the award ceremony to coincide with Nurses Week activities in May 2023. Nominations for this award were open and accepted 8 weeks prior to the award. All nominations (3 nurse leaders nominated) were carefully reviewed by the Executive Leadership Team (CEO, CNO, HR Manager).
As the CNO, I'm the DAISY committee chairperson and represented the committee. Sherry received 4 nominations, all from her staff. The following are several of the accolades she received:
"Goes above and beyond to give her best to our patients, staff, and physicians. She'll mix drips, hold hands, and clean dirty briefs."
"She always makes sure we have the tools and education we need. She motivates us to do our best."
