I am a retired RN. I had never been a patient for more than one night in the hospital, except for childbirth prior to becoming an RN. I was scheduled for a total knee replacement. I've never had major surgery. Needless to say, I was very anxious about being the patient instead of the nurse. My first night following surgery I slept very little. During the day my family was present most of the time. The second night I again didn't sleep that well despite receiving medication to help. Shirley was my nurse. She made me feel so relaxed and did everything she could to make sure I was comfortable. She was awesome. She walked with me and we sat and talked about Montana. It's a long story but that conversation made me feel so good inside. She actually listened to me and I felt like we were old friends by the end of the night. She is the persona of a nurse that I hope I portrayed during my career.
Community Memorial Hospital is lucky to have all of the nurses that I encountered during my short stay there. I was impressed by each and every one of them involved with my care. I would recommend your hospital to others, thank you for the care I received there.

Thank you, Shirley, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
