I remember being down and out when Shirley walked by my bed, and though we had never met, Shirley made eye contact with me and sensed I was in need. She sat down with me and talked to me like a friend with the utmost respect and compassion in a very caring manner. I was really in need of someone to listen after hearing news of my cancer reoccurrence. It meant so much to me for her to take time out of her busy schedule to show love and compassion in my time of need. She is a blessing to Beaumont.
