Simone came in on her day off to be the patient’s support person during delivery.
We had a patient that was admitted to Labor and Delivery early in her pregnancy. She was going to stay in the unit for a couple of months until it was safe to deliver her baby. Simone Locklund made sure the patient had plenty of activities, such as crochet supplies to help the days go by. Simone was always there to allow the patient to vent as she learned that she had a very poor support system at home. One night, the patient was told she would be going for an emergency/high-risk C-section in the morning. The patient called her husband and mom over thirty-five times, but neither of them came. The patient then found Simone on social media and messaged her about the situation. Simone came in on her day off to be the patient’s support person during delivery. Simone has the biggest heart and deserves this recognition.
