I met Sindi on the day of my second chemotherapy. I was running late that day, and when I arrived, she welcomed me with a smile but said, "You are late." I apologized, embarrassed. Half an hour later, while she had me set up for the session, we were both laughing at some joke, and she had completely put me at ease.

Since then, she has always cared for me like a sister, answering all my questions and worries and attending to me promptly. She has the most caring nature and the most sensible and effective advice to offer for symptoms, and I always found her smiling, grateful, and taking pride in her job. During the 12-week cycle of chemotherapy, she made an effort to get to know me better and my family and remembered them by name, which I feel is such a great way to make a cancer patient feel appreciated and cared for. She also respected the fact that I took the time to sleep during my sessions, and she made sure that no one disturbed me. She arranged the bed with two pillows for me, just the way I liked it, and made sure that I was always comfortable. I always looked forward to my sessions because I always felt cared for and looked after. She is the best nurse the Mediclinic has, and she sure knows how to make a patient comfortable, welcome, and relaxed!
