I would like to nominate Sonny for so many reasons. The most impactful thing he did was make me feel like everything was going to be okay, even at the darkest hour, because he was there. Hospitals are scary places, especially when you understand exactly what is going on and that your family member's life is at risk. The level of education, compassion and caring Sonny showed was beyond my ability to fully express.

For the first time since my family member had gotten sick, I was able to take a break, because I knew Sonny was there watching. He communicated constantly and compassionately with me and my husband. He went out of his way to make sure that we were cared for and communicated with. He knew exactly what information I was looking for, he knew exactly what needs I had and he anticipated them from the moment he arrived. He is also extremely funny and personable without being obtrusive or overwhelming. I cannot and did not get to thank him personally, but he should know how extraordinary he is to the patients and their families. Sonny should know that the little things he does make an incredible impact on the patients and the families he cares for.
