How do I begin? She is an amazing, extraordinary nurse. She provided care for me during the delivery of my daughter, W. Not only did she provide support and encouragement through labor and delivery she provided emotional support to the fullest degree by remembering the loss of my son A. She was kind and empathetic. I still remember being told she would be our nurse and I felt a sense of relief and joy. She was so considerate to ask if we were ok with her being our nurse as she was thinking of my and my husband’s emotional health. Starla previously was my nurse during my labor after we lost my son at 30 weeks. This was the most difficult time of my life, and she provided me with such support and encouragement physically, spiritually, and emotionally. During this time, I was also extremely sick and eventually transferred to the ICU. Her intelligence, collaboration, and experience kept me safe. She went above and beyond to communicate with my team to ensure my safety. She saved my life. During both periods of care, she also went above and beyond to support and answer my husband’s questions, he was very grateful. I cannot thank her enough and she will always be a part of both my sweet babies’ stories. God most certainly had a hand in giving us this wonderful nurse twice!
