My son was involved in a very serious motorcycle accident and was mercy flighted to your hospital. When I arrived, I was met by this nurse, and what she had to tell me was just as difficult to say as it was for me to hear. I was alone that night with no family beside me when I received the news no mother ever wants to hear. This nurse went above and beyond to take care of me until friends could arrive. She made the hard calls to my other children, even taking the time to make a call beside his bed allowing his brother, who is in the military, an opportunity to see him and be with him one last time. This nurse quickly recognized I would need some care at the ER that evening as well and brought one of the ER doctors out to the visitor waiting room where they both graciously treated me right where I was.
