She is one of a kind. Very nurturing. A great listener. Not only did we discuss illness, but she also taught me about it, like how to manage pain and medicines. She made sure that I was comfortable because at the time I was in distress. She's very loving and caring and really cares about her work and also her patients. Thanks to her I had the quickest recovery ever. She treated me like family. I almost didn't want to leave. If we had more people in the world like her, it would definitely be a better place. I've been a patient at WellStar Cobb Hospital for 12 days (and counting) and can't say enough about the excellent care I've received across the board. There is one caregiver, however, who has made the most impact on my experience here. Stephanie on 3 North has been my nurse from the time I was admitted until now (every day she has been scheduled). She always takes the time to show sincere care and concern not only for my physical needs but also for my mental/emotional well-being.
Even when I was at my worst and most "high maintenance" she has never once made me feel as if I was being a burden or overly-demanding. Instead, at those times she's put forth even more effort to make me forget how miserable I felt and find some reason to smile and have hope that things will get better. As she has continued to care for me, she has become very proactive in anticipating my needs, as well, and even communicating those needs/preferences to caregivers on other shifts! I can't say thank you enough for her excellent, compassionate, sincere care.
