Susan and I work together on the float team, both as resource nurses. It is always a great day working with Susan. She is always helpful, knowledgeable, caring, and skillful. Even when she is not working as the resource nurse, she will assist me while I’m resource, to try to start a PIV. She’s an amazing team player. There have been a few times when I’ve had to draw labs or start an IV on a patient that Susan did the same for the day before. I always hear from that patient and family about the wonderful nurse the day before who was so nice and perfect at drawing blood or starting their IV. Not only is Susan a great nurse, but she does so much for the float team. For our R and R committee (social committee), she quilted a gorgeous blanket that was auctioned off to raise money for the R and R committee. She had chaired that committee for many years also. She recently joined our Shared Governance Committee. Being there only one hour, she immediately took on tasks and projects to complete. I believe Susan is an exceptional nurse and would be an amazing recipient of the DAISY Award.
