Tamika was the most exceptional of all nursing staff during my father’s stay at IU Health Methodist. My aunt had been hospitalized six days prior to my father’s arrival on another unit. My father’s prognosis was not good, with only days left to live. Because his only sibling was in the hospital at the same time as him, my aunt wanted to be taken to see her brother. It would be the last time they would be able to see each other on this side before Heaven. My aunt’s nurses and aides were telling her this wouldn’t be possible because of how many broken bones she had. But when she spoke to Tamika, Tamika made some calls to the unit that my aunt was on and coordinated a visit for my aunt to see my dad one last time.

We cannot thank Tamika enough for her care, kindness, and empathy for my aunt’s wishes, even when my aunt was not her patient. We are so grateful.
