Narrowing Tammy Inks down to a single story that made a difference is impossible. She provided excellent medical care but more than that, she gave S the gift of feeling important and listened to. She spent time soothing S's fears. She brought window clings to put on for each holiday. The moment that stands out the most, though, was when she cut, shaped, and painted S's nails. S felt like a person who was seen by a kind person who “happened” to be her nurse also.
