Oh, our Tanya! She made our out of state stay in your ICU bearable. Not only was she all the things a nurse should be; compassionate, caring, patient, and nurturing, but she was also a "crack the whip" kind of gal who made my husband do what he had to do in order to get better. I hope we will forever be embedded in her memory of patients; for being the Chicagoans who came for an unexpected visit. Whose husband, M, the patient, developed an obsession with apple juice, that Tanya just couldn't keep enough stocked for him to be happy. (Think she took almost all at one point to shut him up!) All in the best way possible. We all teased and joked of it. Also, she was so cute and funny with us both. Her sense of humor is great! The best thing is she's also crafty, who knew? She made me a paper nurse's hat to take home with me for when I get to play nurse. She is one of a kind! (Tanya can fill you in on my special nurse hat with a "p" on it.)
