I have saved this nomination form for over a year, trying to find the right words to express my gratitude and deep appreciation for Tara. A year has slipped past since meeting Tara, along with some of the details, but when you have your first child staying three short, yet torturous nights in the NICU, there are feelings one cannot forget. I am so grateful to say one thing I will always remember was meeting Tara. She was warm and soft and kind; everything a new mother would want to surround her newborn with. A wave of comfort and peace washed over us the evening that we knew Tara was watching over our daughter. Tara had put our hearts at ease within moments and spent a few minutes asking us simple questions about our baby and her nursery. We had mentioned bunnies, and the next morning we rushed to see our daughter, only to find her in a bunny onesie with her very own name tag, which featured another bunny. It may seem like such a simple gesture, but it is one from a genuinely thoughtful mind and heart. Tara was our daughter’s nurse for her last night in the NICU; she reviewed all sorts of information with us, and somehow made us feel confident and eager to take her home and to start the first chapter of our lives as a family of three! To this day, I would trust my daughter to the care of Tara. Her kindness, intelligence, and attention to detail set her apart from her peers, which is incredible considering the capabilities of all the NICU nurses.
