Tequila's bedside manner is extraordinary, and she was very comforting and consoling at times when I was about to reach an emotional breaking point.
Tequila Fitzgerald helped minimized suffering for our patient by providing compassionate connected care, making a personal connection, and doing it with a smile. The personal attention Tequila provided, even when she was not the primary nurse, exemplifies what an extraordinary nurse she is and we are so fortunate to have her providing nursing care here at Southern Hills:
While all of the nurses on the fifth floor were amazing, the one that stood out to me the most was Tequila. Her bedside manner is extraordinary, and she was very comforting and consoling at times when I was about to reach an emotional breaking point. I was admitted to the hospital for my asthma. Although I had other problems as well, my breathing was my main concern.
Well, other problems arose which led to me being in the hospital for two weeks and me having to get my gallbladder removed. Tequila was my nurse a couple of days before I had surgery, so I did express that she was my favorite. The day of my surgery I was in so much pain and even though Tequila wasn’t my nurse that day, not only did she come to check on me and see how I was doing, but it was at the end of her very long and tiring shift so she could have just gone home. She was always there to either hold my hand or rub my back when I was in pain, which says a lot because in the middle of a pandemic any kind of physical contact with another person can be scary. Nevertheless, she put any of those feelings aside to make sure I was comfortable and okay. Not to mention she always had a smile on her face. It doesn’t take much to make me happy and it’s always the little things that mean the most.
