Nurse Luong was so compassionate, always on time with meds, and in fact, would anticipate when doses were due and would ask me if I was in pain
I was admitted to WPAFB Hospital for Acute Pancreatitis. I was in quite a bit of pain and feeling overwhelmed. I was so fortunate to have wonderful nursing staff and technicians who anticipated and provided for every possible need. I would especially like to recognize Theresa Luong, who I believe went above and beyond the expected “call of duty.” Captain Luong was my evening nurse and took such good care of me during a long night away from home. This was far from my first hospitalization, and nights can be frustrating and scary if you are in pain and that pain is not timely addressed (which has happened in the past). Nurse Luong was so compassionate, always on time with meds, and in fact, would anticipate when doses were due and would ask me if I was in pain--constantly assessing that pain on the number scale. It was evident that she not only took her job seriously but loved patient care. Ms. Luong was very personable and would talk to me while assessing me and providing for my needs. She had a gentle and kind bedside manner that was very reassuring. I never felt like I was just “a number” to her but someone that she truly cared about. I feel honored to have had Ms. Luong as my nurse and am confident she will go far in her chosen profession.
