Coming from a staff position, Theresa understands the importance of mentorship. She truly believes that investing in training greatly benefits our patients.
Theresa is an exceptional nurse, mentor, friend, and employee. Theresa is the type of nurse you hope to see in a medical office. Never without a smile, she takes pride in making patients and their families feel welcome. Because Theresa takes her job seriously, wants to meet patient needs, and understands the impact staffing shortages on patient care, she frequently volunteers to work overtime. Parents often thank her for late evening return calls and are very appreciative. Theresa transitioned from Office LPN to Clinical Supervisor several months ago. Coming from a staff position, she understands the importance of mentorship. She truly believes that investing in training greatly benefits our patients. She has done an amazing job in onboarding, staff development, and encouraging a positive work environment through appropriate communication. She has developed excellent relationships with staff and shows her appreciation for them by baking treats and decorating for their birthdays. Many staff comment on how wonderful she is and how thankful they are to have her as a supervisor. She is a trustworthy leader. Neurology has experienced a severe nursing staff shortage. In order to meet the needs of our patients, Neurology began using travel nurses. This process tests the ability of a Supervisor to effectively deal with frequent turnover, onboarding, and training of higher volumes of new staff. Theresa has more than risen to the occasion. She has onboarded 9 travelers and 4 permanent clinic staff in less than a year. She also added supervising and training a nurse who works between two divisions- Sleep Medicine and Neurology. Through these most difficult times, when staff were out for quarantine, classes, or other reasons, Theresa has remained steadfast in ensuring the clinic continues to function. Theresa strives to be a role model for all staff. She remains undaunted, supportive, optimistic, and focused during the most stressful times. She is able to accomplish this through an inner strength we all admire. I am so thankful that Theresa is a part of our team and can think of days when I asked myself what would I do without her. I cannot thank her enough and there are not enough superlatives to describe what she means to us. She is a true asset to this health system.
