October 2019 Honoree
tina gardner, RN
My wonderful nurse, Tina came into the room to check on something and found me in sad shape, fretting and crying. She immediately sat down and began to reassure me and explain what happens as we age to our emotional stability in the dark of night. At a younger age, I was a hospital nurse and remembered "sundowner's syndrome." Now, I experienced it myself and it is scary! Tina stayed with me until I settled down. She kept saying, "when the sun comes up all this will go away and you will have a wonderful day." I can never thank her enough for her kindness to me and her expertise as a nurse.
Thank you, Tina, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
