They sang for close to 30 minutes and had a concert just for my Grandma which calmed her down completely.
This Fantastic ICU Nurse went FAR Over and Above to comfort my 95yr old Grandmother. My beloved Grandma suffered an Intra Ventricular Hemorrhage, a type of inoperable stroke. She was in ICU for 7 days. She would get extremely agitated, trying to rip out her leads, rip off her covers and try to get up. I was able to calm her by singing some old-time church hymns to her. The nurse saw me do this and asked if they could play the piano for her. I, of course, said "Yes please." What happened next was a shocking display of just how much this nurse cares for their patients. They brought in an electric piano and several ICU workers I did not know, including a Physician, to accompany with singing. The nurse played several hymns for my Grandma. I wish I had recorded it. It was truly unbelievable. They sang for close to 30 minutes and had a concert just for my Grandma which calmed her down completely. The nurse, and the student nurse, as well as many others, went FAR Beyond any expectation I had ever hoped for. I am Forever Grateful to this nurse for initiating this special concert. Nominating for a DAISY Award is the least I can do. Thank you so much for this kind gesture and for making wonderful memories of Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
