One night when Tonya was working on the COVID unit, she was working extra hard to provide excellent patient care to all her patients, and she had found herself providing a moment of special comfort to a patient during their passing.
When Tonya had noticed that her patient was taking their last breath, she made sure to be there, so that the patient would not be alone. Along with her presence, she had given the patient their last rites, by holding their hand, and offering a peaceful prayer.I believe what Tonya did was remarkable, and she is an everyday hero that deserves to be recognized for her compassion and dedication to her patients and for her meaningful purpose in nursing. May she continue to be an amazing example, of what nursing is truly about.
