I was in the pre-op center being prepped for knee surgery. Tracy was my nurse. As I have had extensive surgeries and medical procedures I find it better to be up front with the nursing staff about my particular issues. #1 being I am a very difficult stick for my IV. I found Tracy extremely attentive. She really listened. As we went through my medical history she asked questions and offered caring comments. As we made it through my drug allergies and once again she paid attention. She did not rush me through my nervousness. She knew I was nervous about the IV stick. She was very understanding about working with me to make it work on the first try. She kept talking to me and asking distracting questions. Bless her heart. Unfortunately, first didn't work but I was comfortable to let her try again and the second time worked. She then proceeded to get my BP. It was high but not what it would have been if she took it right at the start. Her care of me was so different then the procedure I had the month before.
So in closing having a nurse that seemed to truly care while taking care of what she needed to do in order to get me ready for my procedure was truly terrific. As a customer service manager, I generally don't submit a nomination like this, but Tracy really made a positive impression on me for going the extra distance with and for me!
