Twala exemplifies everything a nurse strives to be. When thinking of the best qualities a nurse can have, Twala has them all. She shows up to work every day with a huge smile and a ton of eagerness. She’s always the first to volunteer to take a patient, to help everyone, and to stay late if need be. She is kind to everyone, and she displays an immense amount of integrity.

On multiple occasions, I’ve watched Twala advocate for her patients. Likewise, she always talks to her patients and builds a rapport with them, making them feel comfortable. Besides watching Twala take amazing care of her patients, I’ve also been inspired to continue to learn because of her. Twala is eager to learn and is always reading to stay up to date with best practices. It’s admirable and inspiring. From watching her, I’ve been motivated to learn more and do more education outside of work to provide better care to my patients. Although I am the one nominating Twala for this award, I know she has been an inspiration to so many people and impacted numerous patients in her time being a nurse.
