Uriah demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to his job at Kayenta Service Unit, Kayenta Health Center. Uriah takes it upon himself to provide exceptional support and service to new faculty and staff. He discerns quickly their individual needs and provides key information, recommendations, or direction. Beyond this and during this time of change, he has proven to be a key player in the transition of opening inpatient services. He has provided many training opportunities, revised many policies and procedures, and provided insights to many of our committees. Uriah is the kind of person who loves to giveā€¦he took time out of his busy schedule to train, to cover staffing in the emergency room/inpatient. He is a true champion for higher education and has a tireless commitment to serving our hospital. He epitomizes servant leadership and inspires others to give back and pay it forward. You are a true asset to KSU and continue to be an example of all nurses. Thank you Uriah!

When I found out about the DAISY Award, Uriah immediately came to mind. Uriah has been my supervisor for 5 months. He made me feel that I was a valued part of this organization when I was having doubts. With his kindness, compassion, and guidance, I was able to grow in my position and now do things I never imagined I would do. He makes me strive to do better because I would never want to let him down. He strives to make sure the unit is fully staffed and the well-being of all staff on the unit. He is dedicated, hardworking, organized, and committed to constantly learning and developing best practices for managing routine activities in an efficient and effective manner. He easily establishes and maintains relationships with faculty, doctoral, students, and our visitors. He actively participates in meetings and events, allowing him to understand the department's implicit needs and initiate ideas to support our efforts.
