Valerie J. Hofius, RN

Val has been the backbone of the cardiology practice in Red Wing for multiple years and her selfless and engaging qualities have only heightened during the last 18 months working through the pandemic. She is immersed in our practice on a daily basis with mentoring new RNs to our practice, teaching student nurses, facilitating stress testing, and working the inbasket to provide timely and compassionate responses to our patients. Val has also graciously stepped outside her cardiology role to help in the infusion clinic with an increased demand during the coronavirus pandemic and continues to be extremely flexible with her day-to-day work duties. She recently helped arrange outpatient lymphedema visits and transportation to and from the clinic for one of our patients who was not able to continue home evaluations and treatments due to the home health agency not having staff to provide this service. She went above and beyond for this patient who greatly benefited from the outpatient therapy with many other patient scenarios like this one!! Val is a patient-centered, invaluable member of the cardiology team who is always willing to go the "extra" mile to put our patients first!! We are incredibly fortunate to have her on our team!!!
