I was at my emotional and psychological lowest while being treated here at SLMC BGC when Nurse Valerie attended to me. She was gentle but firm, very organized, and passionate. With her at my side, all of a sudden, I felt I was not alone in the scary plight I was in. She was inspiring me when I realized that there is not much hope for me to be healed and recover. She told me to eat no matter how difficult. When I started to use diapers for my personal essentials, she never made me feel less dignified. She had a beautiful and warm way of making me feel good about myself with pride. When I knew that her duty was up that day, I couldn't help but cry. In the meantime, I carried all her reminders to me and followed them. I knew that my human angel, Valerie is one of God's gifts to me. I will pray for her every day of my life and I will ask the Lord to give her everything that she desires in her life. Valerie, thank you is not enough. I assure you that you will always be in my thought every day of my life.
